Kara's Way!

What up y'all! There's a new box in town! Drumroll please for..... Kara's Way! Kara's Way just launched with their first box this May and they were so kind to send me one for review!

Kara's Way is a monthly subscription service where you pay a monthly fee of $15 to receive a box filled with 5-10 surprise samples! The uniqueness about Kara's Way is that all of the sample products you will receive are NATURAL! You will only receive organic, natural or vegan products good for you AND the environment! :) The types of products they surprise you with are Makeup, Skin Care, Hair Products and/or Perfume.

So what did May's box look like?? I will show you!
VoilĂ !

Contents! Along with a cute little note! :)

"Cover this tag with soil and place in a sunny spot. Water often and watch wildflowers bloom!"

The goods! Stuff on top from left to right: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel w/ Aloe Vera, La Fresh Oil-Free Face Cleanser, La Fresh Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover, Beyond Coastal Daily Active Sunscreen SPF 15, and Keeki pure & simple lip shimmer in Sassy.

Inside the green bag: Native Touch - Blue Corn Sugar Scrub, Medicine Man Soap, Rooting Bear Rub (Moisturizer)

Inside green tissue paper #1: HoneyBee Gardens Watercolors Nail Polish in Burlesque

Inside green tissue paper #2: Nature d' Argan: Pur Elixir d' Argan (for face, body, hair)

I was pretty impressed with this box! 10 decent samples! With subscription services like these I know that not everyone is going to love every item in each box, but what I look for is the size of the samples... is this enough product to determine if I like it? I give Kara's Way 2 thumbs up for May's box! I especially like this subscription service because all the products are natural and as I'm learning more and more about health and beauty I'm always trying to find a more natural alternative to the non-natural products I use now.

Like other subscription services out there Kara's Way is a fun way to introduce yourself to different products you may not have available to you on a normal basis. At $15/month is a little more than I've been seeing most services at $10/month, but then again Kara's Way is all natural so I understand why it would be a little more and if they continue to send decent sized samples it will be worth it. Kara's Way also provides links to all the products they send you (along with coupon codes if available!) if you are interested in purchasing it at full size. Unfortunately this may bum some people out is that I received the email before I received the box, so I already had an idea of what I was getting. Not a huge deal to me but I know people look forward to the surprise...so my advice.. refrain from opening any Kara's Way emails before you receive that month's box! ;)

You can sign up to get on their waiting list since they are not currently accepting new members. Each monthly box ships out the 15th of the month and should arrive at your door 5-10 business days after that. You are billed the same day each month from the day you signed up. You can cancel anytime, but they do bill you 1 month in advance so you have to cancel before 12am PCT on your billing date if you do not wish to receive the following months box.

Have a great last day of May!! :)

BANANAS

Sorry no time for Three Things Thursday or really any kind of blogging because I just found out on Friday that I got a job in TEXAS and am moving there (from Chicago) in 3 weeks! I have a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it in! So I just wanted to say HELLO! I know I've been lacking social media presence and this is why! I hope you can be patient with me! :)

Remember that lame post I had a few weeks ago.. well this was the outcome I was hoping for! I just didn't mean for it to be all so fast paced, but it is and I'm grabbing life by the horns and doing it!

Okay that's my quickie update, I hope it was good for you.. if not... then I'm sure this photo is.

You're Welcome.

p.s. Thank you for your continued support! I really do appreciate it! :)

Three Things Thursday!!!

Hey guys.... ok so I'm done being Negative Nancy. I feel semi-lame for even posting that entry but whatever... we're all human. :) (thank you for all the sweet comments!) && it's Three Things Thursday and I'm excited about it!

First Thing: McDonalds "Cone"
So I'm doing the Weight Watchers thing and I've started the Brazil Butt Lift (on day 4 and wow am I sore) so you might be thinking why oh why would I be talking about McDonalds. Well friends....I've recently learned from my dear sis Rachele that the "Cone" (that's what its called on the menu) isn't that bad! Bad meaning not that crazy fattening. Turns out this "Cone" is your standard ice cream cone with Reduced Fat Vanilla ice cream! Omg it is such a tasty little treat! AND it's only FOUR points plus! wait it gets better... it's only $1 ahhhh! So if you're watching what you're eating but craving something "bad" at 150 calories... I say hop on down to your nearest McDonalds with some pocket change and you're good to go!
YUMMMMMM
Second Thing: My Lazy Water Bottle
I've been trying to be more conscious and make a better effort in drinking more water. I have coffee in the morning then at work I'll have some tea but then time goes on and I don't really drink anything. My goal is to drink at least 8 cups of water each day. I find that with this water bottle it's very easy for me to accomplish this goal! The key reason for this ... the straw!! Having a wide mouth bottle or a cup where I constantly have to pick up the water and then tilt my head back to drink it was the source of my dehydration. Having the straw really makes a difference and I'm drinking a lot more than 8 cups/day with it! This bottle hold 24 oz. so I'm drinking 3 cups in no time! Other cool features include being able to hide the straw which also closes the bottle, the ounces are marked on the bottle, and the bottle is doubled which prevents it from sweating! I found mine at Target a few months ago. The brand is Trudeau if you're interested!
H TWO OH!
Third Thing: My Fitness Journal
To help keep me on track with Brazil Butt Lift and Weight Watchers I started a journal! It's been very helpful and keeps me motivated! Each day I write what exercise I have scheduled for that day, I make a water checklist, and I write everything I plan on eating that day (if I know) and write the amount of points plus each food is so I stay within my appropriate points! Friday is my "weigh in day" so I also write that down. This is a nice addition that I have implemented in my routine! It's fairly simple to make, all you need is a notebook, a pen, and a plan! :)
ehhh kinda blurry but you get the picture (pun intended!)

I am optimistic, I'm just hating my life right now.

Huh? I know right... seems a little contradictory but this was an exact quote said by me last night completely organically. It just came out and I thought wow...that makes zero sense but at the same time it makes a lot of sense. I don't legit hate my life. Hate is a strong word. However, there are a few things that have happened not in my favor recently and I'm for the first time able to say that I am stuck between a rock and a hard place and mean it. I'm not sure what to do besides wait. I don't think I can do anything besides that. That part is the most frustrating.  ....just waiting. I know I'm being really vague but I can't really get all in detail about it now but don't worry I'm not waiting for some type of criminal trial or anything... just one of life's hurdles just posting up right in front of me... and I can't jump over it without kicking it down right now. But with patience I'll be able to fly over it eventually.
My point exactly.
Ok enough with this long babbling analogy. The good thing about this issue... the optimistic part...the outcome. No matter what happens I know the outcome will be fine. It's just this middle part of not knowing what is going to happen before I get to the outcome is whats killing me.
So close, yet so far!
I'm all about Karma and I believe everything happens for a reason. This situation I'm in is all part of my life plan. and today I have the freedom to blog about it, so I am :) I'm not sure if this makes any sense to you, but if it does... I'd appreciate and words of encouragement if you have any idea what I'm talking about! Feel free to share any experiences you had to deal with being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
That's me. The goat! Help!! ;)
Sorry for being all Debbie Downer but it's either I don't post until I'm all Positive Polly (ha just made that up!) or I post what's on my mind. and I made this blog to make posts. Not forced posts, but I realize I haven't been writing in a while because I've had this weighing on my mind and haven't been motivated to write about anything until I got this out of the way.

Now that that's out of the way....I'm ready to focus on the positive! I don't see how focusing on the negative will get me anywhere. :)
It's half FULL y'all! ;)

p.s. Three Little Birds just started playing in my head. :)

Three Things Thursday!!

Well Hi there!! Happy MAY!! May is such a crazy month for me... as it is every year... my sister Rachele's bday is May 1st, Mom's is May 2nd, my sister Nichole's is May 4th, (Mitch's Mom's is May 3rd!), Rachele's Anniversary May 9th, BFF Kathy is May 14th, Mother's day is in May, Nephew Connor's Bday is May 18th, sister Michele's Anniversary is also May 18th,  May is also communion and dance recital month. I mean MAY DAY more like MAY MONTH! .. huh? anyways.. so its craziness..... let's relax and chat about THREE THINGS!

First Thing: OPI "Thanks a Windmillion"

My sister Rachele wore this color on my bday and I was like WHAT IS THAT COLOR I NEED IT IN MY LIFE STAT!
Such a pretty color for any season, I think at least, its like a creamy muted green. It just came out in their new "Holland" collection && my girl LC had a blog post about this color the other day! but Rachele started the trend so LC was late. ;)

 Second Thing: FLATS

I know a lot of people are anti-flats, but I am NOT one of those people and I am soooo thankful they became popular a few years ago because damn, I am 6 feet tall with a size 11 shoe. It's already hard enough to find my size in shoes that I like and then I had to stress about finding a decent looking shoe without a 5 inch heel attached to it! There used to be 0 attractive non heeled shoes in size 11. So I am ALL about cute flats and I'm so happy they are available everywhere!
:) I got these flats for Target! ($19.99...holla!) I wore them today and received numerous compliments (I mean why wouldn't I, they are cute!)..so I thought I'd share!

Third Thing: Brazil Butt Lift

I know right, great name! I've never heard about this until recently my friend Stephanie started tweeting about it. I was instantly intrigued by the name because every time I work out I can never seem to get a good "butt workout" ya know what I mean? I will be posting more on this, but basically it's a set of workout DVD's accompanied with meal planning. Myself along with a few other girls are starting this workout on May 7th! It's not just a butt workout it is a total body workout but targets your booty! I've seen so many before and after pictures showing awesome results so I'm really excited to start this program and I will be taking pictures too! When I reveal them is still up in the air ;) but Stephanie has stressed the importance of taking before pictures so you can really see what you're accomplishing! I agree! Stephanie is my beach body coach, so if you are interested in this or want more information you can contact her here
This is what came in my Brazil Butt Lift kit!
I'm super excited to start that and honestly I still have to go through all that I received, Monday is May 7th so I'll be getting all ready and organized this weekend :). Have you ever heard of or done the Brazil Butt Lift? Do you hate flats? How do you feel about "Thanks a Windmillion"?! Tell me all about it!

Lauren Conrad Book Signing!! :)

Ahhhhh! I met LC yesterday!! =D
I found out a few months ago that Lauren Conrad was going on a book tour for her new novel, The Fame Game. When I read that she was coming near my town I jumped right on that! I'm so glad I did too because your order in line depended on the order you bought your book which served as your ticket. I got ticket numbers 11 & 12! I dragged my sister Rachele along with me and when we got there around 4 we went to pick up our books. Two other girls were just buying the books and they were numbers 365 and 366...ahhhh! So happy I called ahead! :)
Yay! Got my book!

and my ticket! all set!
The book signing started at 7 so we had some time to kill. Our next stop was lululemon! I got a fun & functional top and headband for yoga! Sweat resistant and cute..love it!
& how cute is the bag that they give you?!
Then we went to dinner at Ted's Montana Grill. We ordered Mini Bison Burgers, yes Bison! Crab cakes, never had those before! Asparagus, yum! and Wine, I was really nervous about meeting LC - I'm so lame! They also had pickles out, like instead of bread. Interesting!
No bread for you!
Yummmm!
Meet my sister, Rachele! Cheers!
Then it was time to walk on back to the book store! There were probably about 400 people in there. Some crazed fans, but all and all pretty chill. We just all wanted pictures and unfortunately they (the book store people, LC's people) we're all like no don't take pictures, too many flashes for her! I was able to snap a few, kinda dark pics, but I got some! and Rachele took a video on her iPhone :)
LC taking a seat!
Happy to be here!
Not a good picture, but this is as good as I could do!
I will never be the paparazzi so don't worry!

&& my best pic! and its bright! yay!

LC was super polite and even prettier in person! I loved her outfit and her hair! ughhh. perf! We had an awkward conversation, typical. I was kinda nervous and didn't prepare anything, I've never been to a book signing nor have I ever met a famous person who I currently am a fan of! I asked her about how she was enjoying her stay in Chicago and thanked her for coming and said it was so nice meeting you! She was really sweet of course! and then my 10 seconds was up! My sister went after me and she likes LC but doesn't care about her like I do, she didn't know what to say either so she ended up telling her she loves her, lol! It was a fun night!
LC or JC?
Got my Zoya "LC" nails on!
and my Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Jewelry! Rach wore the necklace!

After all this excitement we went to the grocery store!! ahhh! I was on the hunt for this tea I had at this place called, Jason's Deli and I was so happy I found it at the store! &&&&& it was on sale! whoot whoot! Kind of a guilty pleasure, it is 5 pp/bottle, but it's organic and very tasty! yay!
Sweet Leaf Organic Tea
Awesome day!! Have you ever met an celebs?? What was you experience? Let it all out in the comments below! :)

p.s. Happy almost Friday!!! =D I'm going to Windy City Live tomorrow!
